Susan Miho Nunes was born in Hilo, Hawai'i, two years after the start of World War II of a Japanese mother and a Portuguese father. Her family moved to Honoluluwhen she was in her teens.
Her short fiction has appeared in Bamboo Ridge, the Graywolf Annual Seven, and other anthologies.
She is the author of A Small Obligation and Other Stories of Hilo, several children's books, including To Find the Way and The Last Dragon.
She is working on The House of Ferns a true crime hybrid that is part murder mystery, part social history, part family story and a personal quest to uncover the long reach of the buried past into a family and a community.
